Petrification Toolkit
January 2010 |
Petrification Toolkit built into iBlaze 3.0 – A New Feature
The petrification toolkit is now built into iBlaze 3.0. This allows users to convert electronic documents to an image from within iBlaze. To petrify an image, right click on the record and choose Petrify document. Documents can be converted to a black and white image or color. Use the marking feature to petrify multiple records in one command.
The results will show the document as both an image and an edoc.

Browser Briefcases
September 2009 |
>
I-Blaze provides a tool called briefcasing. Users can select subsets of documents from the database, choose which fields to share and export those documents. If sending to another person who doesn’t have CT Summation, a browser briefcase can be created. The above is an HTML index of the documents exported to the briefcase. In the linked document column you can click on the related icon to see the document.
Browser briefcases are automatically created with a folder structure. Users should not make changes to the structure, the folder names or split them up between several pieces of media. If any of these changes are made, the html index links will be broken.
This is a great way to share subsets of information and documents with those who don’t have Summation.

Evidence Linking
August 2009 |
 |
One of my favorite features in Transcripts is Evidence linking.
One can create hyperlinks within transcripts to other lines in a transcript (the same one or another), to a video clip, to a Windows document, to a web site or to a document in the core database.
|
| Loading your deposition exhibits to the core database and creating evidence links to them from within the transcript offers the review team several efficiencies. First while working in the transcript, with one click the exhibit being discussed is right on your screen with the testimony. Second, a simple search, for example witness CON franc will pull up all exhibits marked at the deposition. They can be sorted in exhibit number order (or any other order for which a field is populated). Third, while it's very simple and efficient to manage your transcripts and exhibits from within Summation, you may have occasions where hard copies are needed. It's easy to quickly find and print out what’s needed from CT Summation. |

Highlighting
February 2009 |
 |
Highlighting in transcripts is one of CT Summation’s latest features. Users can color code their highlighting by issue and / or users. Transcripts can be printed with or without the highlights and filtered reports can be generated showing the highlights for all or subsets of issues. |

Tag View
January 2009 |
 |
Tag view provides CT Summation users with a quick and easy method for identifying, categorizing, and organizing documents. Any field with a look-up table to be opened up in a separate window within Summation providing a list of the items in the table. A simple click next to all table items relevant for the record populates the field for that record.
